Tax Manager

A highly respected regional CPA firm based in Oakland, CA is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who wants to take on greater responsibility, build strong client relationships, lead a talented team, and have a meaningful impact within a growing organization.

Due to continued growth and an expanding client base, the firm is looking for a Tax Manager who can bring strong technical tax expertise, leadership skills, and a client-first mindset.

Tax Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of highly motivated tax professionals
• Manage and oversee tax planning and compliance engagements
• Develop and implement effective tax strategies for clients
• Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients
• Review complex tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance
• Work directly with clients to understand their financial goals and provide proactive tax guidance
• Collaborate with partners and other members of the firm on client engagements
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes and deliver exceptional client service

Tax Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 7+ years of public accounting experience
• Extensive tax experience with strong knowledge of tax planning and compliance
• Previous management or leadership experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Client-focused mindset with the ability to build long-term professional relationships

Tax Manager Compensation & Benefits:

• $130,000–$180,000+ base salary, depending on experience
