Location: Paducah, Kentucky, in office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation: Low six figures, depending on experience and credentials

About the Role

Our Paducah firm has served clients since 1999, and our 12-person team combines tax and accounting under one roof. We are adding a Tax Manager who will co-manage the tax and accounting staff alongside our Accounting Manager. The two managers lead the same team, so this seat depends on open communication and a genuine willingness to share information and work together. We are not looking for someone who prefers to work alone.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and sign returns as the preparer of record
• Represent clients before taxing authorities under power of attorney
• Co-manage the tax and accounting staff with the Accounting Manager, including assigning work, reviewing output, and developing team members
• Work closely with the accounting department so that tax planning and client accounting stay aligned
• Provide tax planning guidance to clients and communicate clearly with them throughout the year
• Take part in the team-based hiring process by interviewing prospective staff

Qualifications

• CPA and/or Enrolled Agent credential, required for signing returns and holding power of attorney
• Six or more years of progressive tax experience
• Experience supervising or reviewing the work of other staff
• Working knowledge of Drake Tax software is preferred. We train well, and strong candidates who use other platforms will learn it quickly.
