ABOUT THE ROLE

A leading public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Private Client Services team. This role focuses on serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses by providing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex individual and fiduciary tax matters, developing tax-efficient strategies, and serving as a trusted advisor to affluent clients while mentoring junior team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and related entities
  • Review complex tax returns including individual, trust, estate, gift, partnership, and private foundation filings
  • Provide personalized tax planning and advisory services tailored to client objectives
  • Analyze client financial situations to identify tax-saving opportunities and planning strategies
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient solutions related to income, estate, gift, and wealth transfer planning
  • Communicate complex tax concepts and recommendations to clients in a clear and practical manner
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Research tax legislation, regulations, and technical issues impacting clients
  • Analyze the tax implications of investments, estate planning, and other financial decisions
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax professionals
  • Review staff work to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with professional standards
  • Stay current on tax law changes, industry developments, and emerging planning opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Experience serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trusts, and estates
  • Strong knowledge of individual, fiduciary, gift, estate, and partnership taxation
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and providing tax planning advice
  • Ability to research and interpret complex tax regulations
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously

This role can be based in Long Island, NYC, or South Florida.
