The Opportunity

Join a dynamic, growth-oriented public accounting firm where you,ll play a visible leadership role across client advisory, team development, and engagement delivery.

This is a review-driven, client-facing position ideal for a Tax Manager who enjoys operating at a higher level guiding strategy, mentoring staff, and owning relationships rather than staying buried in prep work.

What You,ll Be Doing

  • Lead tax compliance and advisory for pass-through entities across multiple industries

  • Operate in a review-heavy model (80% review / 20% prep)

  • Conduct technical tax research and deliver clear, client-ready insights

  • Build and manage client relationships, including billing ownership

  • Oversee multiple engagements with strong execution and prioritization

  • Mentor and develop tax staff and seniors

  • Contribute to firm initiatives, process improvements, and growth strategy

What Sets You Apart

  • Strong technical depth paired with practical, client-focused thinking

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage workflow efficiently

  • High ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently

  • Excellent communication skills both internally and client-facing

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience

  • Strong background in pass-through entity taxation (not SALT-focused)

  • Bachelor,s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Active CPA license (required)

Preferred:

  • Masters in Taxation or LL.M.

  • Experience with CCH ProSystem fx or similar platforms

Profile Fit (What Works Best Here)

  • Experience in small-to-mid-sized public accounting firms

  • Hands-on leaders who are comfortable balancing review, advisory, and team oversight

  • Professionals who enjoy client interaction and relationship ownership

Important Considerations

To ensure alignment with the structure and scope of this role, we are targeting candidates who:

  • Have not spent the majority of their recent career in large national or Big 4 environments

  • Do not specialize primarily in SALT (State & Local Tax)

Why This Role Stands Out

  • True leadership visibility and influence within the firm

  • Broad exposure across industries and client types

  • Compensation range that rewards impact and experience

  • Hybrid flexibility with a strong, collaborative culture

  • Opportunity to shape team growth and client strategy

Bottom Line

If you're a technically strong Tax Manager who wants to step into a more strategic, relationship-driven role with real upside and influence this is the platform to do it.
