This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong tax preparation experience who enjoys working directly with clients and helping individuals and businesses meet their tax obligations.Key Responsibilities
Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and other tax returns using professional tax preparation software while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Gather, review, and analyze financial documents including W-2s, 1099s, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting records
Identify discrepancies, verify accuracy of client information, and recommend corrections as needed
Prepare workpapers and supporting schedules for review
Maintain accurate client files and records within accounting software systems
Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely submission of tax returns
Respond to client questions professionally and promptly
Collaborate with tax, accounting, and audit teams to support client needs
Assist with client retention and business development efforts through exceptional customer service
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of tax preparation experience or 150+ tax returns prepared
Experience in public accounting or a related tax environment preferred
Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, and business tax preparation
Thorough understanding of tax laws, reporting requirements, and compliance standards
Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Lacerte, Drake Tax, or similar platforms
Experience with QuickBooks and general accounting software
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High degree of accuracy in data entry and 10-key proficiency
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines during peak tax season
