Classroom Teacher Assistant

Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy is seeking a Classroom Teacher Assistant for our Capstone Academy in Pensacola, Fl.  This position will work at our Capstone Academy with mentally, physically or emotionally handicapped students.  Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the supervising teacher and reinforces skills introduced.  Assist students to achieve their goals, with gross motor skills and fine motor activities.  Monitor, observe and chart behavior of students and document behavioral changes. Assist students in daily living activities which may include personal care.  Provide a safe and caring environment for the students.

Requirements:

One (1) year of experience working with mentally, physically or emotionally handicapped students in an organized learning or experience in a remedial institution or work involving patient care at a nursing home.  Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the Teacher Assistant job.  Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must pass a Federal and State background screening.
