Position Summary
The Teacher at Victory Life Academy is responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters academic growth, character development, and a love for learning. This role involves planning and delivering effective instruction, supporting student development, and contributing to the overall school community.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Development - Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning
- Develop lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with curriculum standards
- Establish and clearly communicate learning objectives for all activities
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate relevant technology to enhance teaching and learning
Classroom Environment & Management - Prepare and maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment
- Manage student behavior by establishing clear expectations, rules, and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies
- Apply appropriate and consistent disciplinary measures when necessary
Student Assessment & Progress - Observe, assess, and evaluate student performance and development
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and projects
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student achievement and development
- Prepare reports as required by school policies and regulations
Student Support & Pastoral Care - Provide academic support and encouragement to students
- Offer guidance and counseling for students experiencing academic challenges
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture
Communication & Collaboration - Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in staff meetings, department meetings, and parent conferences
- Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and student success
School Involvement & Professional Growth - Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs, events, and athletics
- Stay current with developments in subject areas, teaching methods, and educational technology
- Continuously improve instructional practices through professional development
