Title: Teacher of Student with Disabilities, Science
Job Description:
- Foster a nurturing and trusting academic environment
- Implement the New Jersey Learning Standards and delivery of daily academic instruction.
- Develop learning activities and use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse student learners
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff;
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their achievements on IEP goals and objectives on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Contribute to the development of IEPs by writing narratives for the PLAAFP and updating goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities, staff meeting, and district workshops to further advance professional development
- Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons, including gathering and managing student data as required by the district and school administrator
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
Qualifications:
- NJDOE CE/CEAS/Standard certificate in K-6 with subject matter specialization: Science Specialization in Grades 5-8 (#1103);
- NJDOE Special Education Teacher certificate (TOH or TOSWD #2475);
- Middle School teaching experience preferred;
- Knowledge of effective/creative instructional strategies and differentiation of instruction
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside of the Science Department and Special Services
