Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a school-based team near Elgin for the 20262027 school year. This is a full-time opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to helping students with visual impairments achieve academic success and independence.

Position Details

• Full-time, school-based position

• 20262027 academic year

• Competitive pay starting at $55.00 per hour

• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

• Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Endorsement

• Previous school-based experience preferred

• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs)

• Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments

• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress

• Adapt instructional materials to meet student needs

• Support student access to the curriculum and promote independence

• Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure student success
