Pay: Negotiable depending on qualifications/experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Supervise and coordinate educational activities each day
• Supervise and instruct residents/students in assigned academic area
• Provide individual assistance to residents/students
• Discipline residents/students and refers more difficult cases to proper supervisor(s)
• Counsel residents/students regarding behavioral and academic problems
• Develop individual performance objectives
• Maintain curriculum
• Prepare and submit required records and reports (e.g., attendance records, resident/student progress, resident/student profiles)
• Requisition necessary supplies; maintain equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of…

• Supervision, academic course or vocational techniques
• APEX learning knowledge preferred
• Child Psychology

Ability to…

• Interpret variety of technical material in books and other sources
• Develop good rapport with residents/students
• Prepare individual performance objectives
• Prepare and maintain records related to resident/student's work performance and behavior
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Communicate effectively and exercise sound judgment
• Maintain effective work relationships with associates, staff and general public

Requirements…

• Applicant must obtain an Educational Aide Permit and/or have an ESEA qualification. Student Monitoring Permits will also be considered.
• 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license (or the ability to obtain one prior to employment date)

Unusual Working Conditions: May come into contact with individuals who are violent, angry and/or prone to violence.

Pre-Employment Screening may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, psychological evaluation, drug screen, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certification, and or verification of work history.

Dress Code: All employees are expected to dress in an acceptable, professional manner, any employee who has a tattoo must make sure that the tattoo(s) is/are covered up and not visible at all times during work hours. Any visible body piercings, with the exception of professional appearing ear piercing, shall not be filled with adornments during paid work hours in accordance with Clermont County Juvenile Court Personnel Policy and Procedures.
