Work with teachers to meet the needs of students. Requires driving a morning and afternoon bus route for additional pay. Bus routes are single stop, shuttle routes.
A Teacher Assistant (or paraprofessional) supports a lead educator by managing classroom logistics, providing one-on-one or small group instruction, and supervising students. They help prepare lesson materials, grade assignments, maintain classroom organization, and monitor student behavior to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.
Core Responsibilities- Instructional Support: Reinforce lessons by working with students individually or in small groups. Help students grasp challenging concepts or assist with special accommodations.
- Classroom Preparation: Set up equipment, organize materials, and prepare the classroom space before and after lessons.
- Administrative Duties: Assist the lead teacher by taking attendance, grading assignments, calculating grades, and maintaining classroom records.
- Student Supervision: Monitor students in the classroom, during lunch and recess, or on field trips to ensure safety and enforce school rules.
- Special Needs Assistance: Provide tailored support for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), physical disabilities, or English as a Second Language (ESL).
