Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time, 10-Month

Bargaining Unit: NEW LONDON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Position Overview: Provides instruction and is responsible for student

learning during a particular time period in social studies

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based social studies instruction that promotes critical thinking, historical inquiry, civic responsibility, and global awareness.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement, academic achievement, and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
  • Use data-driven instructional practices and differentiated strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Assess student progress regularly, provide meaningful feedback, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student success.
  • Foster connections between history, geography, economics, civics, and current events through interactive learning experiences, projects, and technology integration.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 026 or applicable

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
