The City of Greensboro is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our Equipment Services team. This position is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of City vehicles, construction equipment, and shop equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and enjoys hands-on problem-solving while working in a collaborative environment that directly supports the Citys ability to serve the community.
Compensation and Benefits:
Estimate Hiring Salary Range: $41,600.00 - $46,998.00 Full Salary Range: $41,781.00 - $63,917.00

About the Role
The Preventative Maintenance Technician performs scheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on City vehicles, construction equipment, small engine equipment, and shop equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Additional Position Details
Position requires walking, stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting
Work is performed in both shop and outdoor environments with exposure to dust, grease, noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather
Must possess or obtain the following within six months of employment:
North Carolina Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
North Carolina Emission/Safety Inspection License
ASE Air Conditioning Recovery Certification
Position requires flexibility to perform both routine and emergency maintenance assignments

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
"OR" 3 years of education + 3 years of related heavy truck and equipment maintenance work experience
Valid drivers license
1+ years in Automotive and Heavy Truck and Equipment maintenance
