Technical Consultant
The SAP B1 Technical Consultant owns all SAP-specific technical work - customisation, SDK development, and the integration layer connecting SAP B1 with the companys other systems. This role works alongside the existing Programmer/Developer Section Manager, who handles general development and the in-house HR platform. The division is clear: the existing developer owns the HR platform and general applications; the SAP Technical Consultant owns everything SAP-specific.
Like Role 1, this person must be fully self-sufficient technically. The project consultant sets the integration vision - what systems need to talk to each other and what data needs to flow where - but does not provide SAP technical direction. The Technical Consultant must be able to take that vision and architect, build, and maintain the solution independently, collaborating with the existing developer where the integration touches non-SAP systems.

SAP B1 Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of SAP B1 technical development experience
Hands-on production experience with SAP B1 Service Layer (REST API) and DI API
Experience building SAP B1 add-ons using the SDK , Service Layer, Fiori , HTML5
Solid SAP HANA skills - views, stored procedures, performance tuning and administration.
Crystal Reports development for SAP B1.
Experience in Mobile applications skills.
Experience in SUSE Linux Enterprise 2.0
Integration & Architecture
Strong REST API skills - designing, building, and maintaining production integrations
Experience with Active Directory user provisioning and attribute synchronisation
Ability to design an integration architecture independently and present it clearly to a non-technical project lead
Experience working alongside general application developers on shared integration projects, with a clear division of responsibilities
Familiarity with middleware or automation platforms , Power Automate, or similar is an advantage
Knowledge of Integration Framework (B1if) or other middleware.
Strong in Web Application development by .NET Core MVC, C#.NET
Communication & Collaboration
Able to receive integration requirements from a non-technical project lead and translate them into a technical design without requiring SAP guidance from above
Can explain technical constraints, options, and trade-offs in plain language to non-technical stakeholders
Strong documentation habits - work must be maintainable by others, including the existing developer and future team members
AI & Dashboard Skills
Experience building or connecting dashboards that aggregate data from multiple systems - Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Grafana, or similar
Ability to implement automation workflows that eliminate manual data exchange between SAP B1 and other platforms
Practical experience with AI tools to improve data quality, automate reporting, or surface anomalies

What you do
Own all SAP B1 technical development - customisations, add-ons, and extensions using the SAP B1 SDK and DI API
Design and implement the API integration between SAP B1 (Service Layer) and the companys in-house HR platform, in collaboration with the existing developer
Implement identity lifecycle management: a new employee added in the HR platform automatically triggers Active Directory account creation, which then propagates access to SAP B1 and other connected systems
Build custom queries, Crystal Reports, and data extracts that feed the unified management dashboard
Work with the Senior Functional Consultant to support any configuration that requires technical implementation
Manage SAP B1 system performance, patch management, and version upgrades
Translate integration requirements from the project consultant into a technical architecture - explaining options, constraints, and recommendations clearly
Maintain technical documentation for all customisations and integrations to a standard that others can follow and maintain
Ensure all development adheres to PDPA and data security requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
