Technical Implementation Specialist (Microsoft Intune and Enterprise MDM)

Position Overview
KSTA I.T. is seeking an advanced Technical Implementation Specialist to serve as a Microsoft Intune and Enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) specialist.
The role exists to modernize and streamline how the agency deploys and manages mobile devices. The work is cloud-based and centers on Microsoft Azure/Entra and Intune, covering Apple and Android devices. It is a hands-on, implementation and project-oriented role that combines planning, configuration, and migration work with ongoing support and troubleshooting.
You will work collaboratively with agency IT staff, configuring the environment in line with state, federal, and agency security standards and providing documentation and knowledge transfer so the team can sustain it after implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, configure, implement, and support the agency's mobile device management and endpoint management environment using Microsoft Azure/Entra and Intune
- Configure device enrollment for managed devices
- Configure compliance policies, Conditional Access, and security baselines
- Deploy and manage applications through Intune
- Implement and support Apple Business Manager integration
- Implement and support Android Enterprise integration
- Support migration efforts as the agency modernizes its mobile device deployment and management processes
- Troubleshoot enrollment, synchronization, and device compliance issues
- Provide implementation recommendations aligned with state, federal, and agency security standards
- Document technical processes and configurations
- Provide knowledge transfer to agency IT staff
- Collaborate with agency IT staff to streamline mobile device deployment and management
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management
- Experience implementing Mobile Device Management solutions in enterprise environments
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
- Experience with Apple Business Manager and Apple DEP/ADE
- Experience configuring Conditional Access, compliance policies, and device security policies
- Knowledge of M365 administration and endpoint security best practices
- Experience with device enrollment, application deployment, and policy management
- Ability to troubleshoot enrollment, synchronization, and device compliance issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience documenting technical processes and providing knowledge transfer to agency staff
- Ability to pass a standard background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within state government or public sector environments
- Experience migrating from Meraki or other MDM platforms to Microsoft Intune
- Experience with Windows Autopilot and endpoint provisioning
- Familiarity with STIG, CIS, or other security compliance standards
- Microsoft certifications related to Intune, Azure, or Endpoint Management
- Experience integrating mobile device management with ticketing or asset management systems
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Remote work arrangement; candidates must reside in the United States
- Standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, approximately 39 hours per week
- No overtime, on-call rotation, or travel required
