Technical Program Manager – Display Silicon (uLED Backplane)
Location: Redmond, WA or Sunnyvale, CA
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days/week
Contract Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension and conversion)
Pay Rate: $105/hour on W2
Benefits: Dental, Health, Vision, 401K, PTO

About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive execution of complex uLED backplane silicon programs from early development through high-volume manufacturing. This role will coordinate closely with Meta’s display silicon organization, cross-functional engineering teams, and external foundry and silicon vendor partners.

The TPM will translate high-level program and vendor milestones into detailed execution plans, manage cross-functional dependencies, track risks and decisions, and ensure clear two-way and three-way communication across internal teams and external partners.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong program ownership, technical understanding, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive execution in an ambiguous, fast-moving hardware development environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Internal Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Lead recurring program meetings, working sessions, and milestone reviews across uLED, silicon, test, packaging, product engineering, and sourcing teams.
  • Track decisions, dependencies, action items, and ownership across multiple engineering workstreams.
  • Identify execution gaps and resolve cross-functional issues before they require escalation.
  • Ensure key technical and program decisions are communicated to all impacted stakeholders.
External Vendor Management
  • Serve as a key program interface with external foundries, silicon vendors, and manufacturing partners.
  • Lead joint working sessions, milestone reviews, program reviews, and vendor meetings.
  • Drive external partners against Meta-defined requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain integrated schedules connecting Meta milestones with vendor commitments.
  • Identify schedule, execution, and dependency misalignment early and drive corrective actions.
Program Tracking & Reporting
  • Maintain authoritative program trackers covering internal and external workstreams.
  • Translate high-level milestones into detailed schedules with defined owners, deliverables, dependencies, and dates.
  • Provide regular program status updates, milestone readouts, and decision summaries to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain visibility into program health, critical path activities, and outstanding decisions.
Risk & Issue Management
  • Maintain a comprehensive, continuously updated risk and issue register.
  • Identify and manage risks related to technical execution, vendor delivery, schedule, IP/confidentiality, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans with clear owners and resolution dates.
  • Escalate critical risks appropriately and provide concise risk summaries for leadership reviews.

Must Have Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager, or equivalent experience in a hardware or silicon development environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating execution across multiple engineering teams, such as silicon, hardware, test, packaging, and product engineering.
  • Proven ability to translate high-level technical or vendor commitments into actionable schedules with owners, milestones, dependencies, and dates.
  • Experience working directly with external vendors, contract manufacturers, foundries, or silicon suppliers.
  • Experience supporting hardware development phases including prototype development, qualification, validation, and mass production.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting program status, risks, and decisions to engineering and cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive decisions and execution despite incomplete or changing information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and complex dependencies.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting requirements and aggressive product timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting semiconductor programs involving foundry, OSAT, silicon vendor, or manufacturing interfaces.
  • Familiarity with display silicon, uLED/microLED, backplane technology, or related electro-optical technologies.
  • Experience managing programs involving multiple external vendors or technology partners.
  • Experience working across time zones with international foundry, OSAT, silicon, or manufacturing partners.
  • Working knowledge of program management and milestone tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience translating complex engineering status, dependencies, and risks into concise briefings for engineering, sourcing, and executive leadership.
  • Experience supporting consumer electronics or connected-device programs from prototype validation through mass production.
  • Experience working with silicon architecture, test engineering, product engineering, packaging, sourcing, or manufacturing organizations.
  • Prior experience supporting AR/VR, smart glasses, wearable, display, or other advanced consumer hardware programs.
