Overview\n \nWe are seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the Finance Data & Experiences (FD&E) organization and lead strategic reporting modernization and business transformation initiatives across Microsoft Finance. \n \nIn this role, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex programs that improve financial reporting, automate business processes, and enable better business decisions through modern data and analytics solutions. You will work across Finance, Engineering, Data Platform, and Business Operations teams to define vision, align stakeholders, manage execution, and drive measurable business outcomes. \n \nThe ideal candidate combines strong program management skills, business acumen, technical depth, and stakeholder influence. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. \n \nResponsibilities\n \nProgram Leadership\n\n Lead medium-to-large scale reporting modernization and finance transformation initiatives.\n Define program vision, strategy, objectives, roadmaps, and success metrics.\n Drive end-to-end solution delivery from discovery through implementation and adoption.\n Manage complex project plans, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.\n Ensure successful execution across multiple partner teams.\n \nBusiness Transformation\n\n Partner with Finance leaders to identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve business processes.\n Develop business cases and prioritize investments based on impact and customer value.\n Drive standardization and modernization of reporting capabilities.\n Lead change management and adoption efforts associated with new solutions.\n \nData & Analytics Strategy\n\n Drive initiatives supporting reporting, planning, forecasting, budgeting, headcount, and operational analytics.\n Partner with engineering and data teams to shape scalable architecture and solution designs.\n Ensure solutions deliver high-quality, trusted, and actionable financial insights.\n Promote data governance and operational excellence practices.\n \nStakeholder Management\n\n Build trusted relationships across Finance, Engineering, and Leadership teams.\n Influence decisions without direct authority.\n Communicate executive-level updates, program health, risks, and mitigation plans.\n Align stakeholders around shared outcomes and business priorities.\n \nInnovation & Process Improvement\n\n Champion automation, AI, and modern reporting capabilities.\n Identify opportunities to simplify business processes and increase organizational efficiency.\n Mentor junior TPMs and contribute to program management best practices.\n \nQualifications\n \nRequired Qualifications\n\n Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines.\n \nPreferred Qualifications\n\n 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.\n \n\n 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).\n \n\n Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Reporting, or Business Operations functions. \n Experience with Power BI, SQL, Azure data platforms, SAP, or enterprise financial systems.\n Experience leading reporting modernization or business transformation initiatives.\n Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Azure DevOps.\n Experience implementing automation and AI-enabled business solutions.\n Experience managing programs involving financial reporting, forecast reporting, budget planning, headcount, or operational performance reporting.\n Experience leading cross-functional programs from concept through implementation.\n Experience working with reporting, analytics, data platforms, or business applications.\n Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across organizations.\n* Clear written and verbal communication skills.\n \nTechnical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year. \n \nCertain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
