Contract · 6 months potential to extend and convert to FTELocation – Wilmington, MA On-site ·
8+ years PM experience · 3+ years of Manufacturing experience
WHAT TO EXPECTWe are scaling up manufacturing of our in-house products and are seeking Technical Program Managers to manage the complexity and technical workstreams across our production lines and manufacturing engineering programs. You will own the delivery of significant manufacturing programs end to end -- setting the plan, managing the risk, and driving the cross-functional execution that keeps each line and program on track. Some of these programs are heavily automated; others are semi-automated or manual, so comfort working with automation is a plus across the board.
The ideal candidate is energized by challenging, ambiguous problem statements and comfortable translating them into clear direction, managed risk, and frameworks that unlock success. This role calls for a highly organized, excellent communicator who can quickly digest a wide range of technical issues, manage cross-functional and vendor relationships, and balance competing trade-offs against overall program success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Establish the mechanisms and cadence to manage large-scale manufacturing programs -- schedules, milestones, and delivery against committed dates across production lines.
- Manage escalations and misalignments when there are risks to delivering with quality; facilitate and lead trade-off decisions with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and partner teams when priorities conflict.
- Work with teams to determine whether a decision is a one-way or two-way door, and manage the discussions needed to align on expectations, impacts, and risks.
- Succinctly translate risks and technical detail to leadership to drive effective decisions with limited information on tight deadlines.
- Develop and publish a clear RACI to create transparency and drive ownership and accountability across teams.
- Coordinate across internal teams, equipment and process engineering, and outside vendors to ensure alignment and enable delivery.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 8+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 8+ years working directly with engineering teams.
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams -- building processes and coordinating release schedules.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Hands-on experience managing complex technology or capital-equipment projects.
- Experience in a high-volume or automotive-grade manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing automated or semi-automated line deployments, including work with integrators or OEMs.
- Experience project-management software.
