Technical Network Project Manager:Responsibilities:
End-to-end infrastructure coordination
- Run IT projects involving network, security and device connectivity.
- Coordinate the technical work required when applications, devices or workloads move into the DS environment.
- Bring together all of the individual infrastructure/application teams required to execute a migration.
Testing & troubleshooting
- Make sure equipment and applications actually function once moved onto the new network.
- Drive testing in advance of migrations, which is an area currently consuming significant effort.
- Troubleshoot rollout issues across network, security, firewalls and connectivity rather than simply tracking them.
- Be willing to go onsite and physically test/connect with the teams when needed.
Application/workload migrations
- Help coordinate equipment residing on the DS network and an environment involving approximately 100 applications.
- Track migration activities and workload movements.
- Identify technical blockers and make sure the appropriate team is engaged to resolve them.
Firewall/security coordination
- Work closely with existing teams around DS/J&J restrictions.
- Coordinate firewall requirements because many systems remain hosted within J&J.
- Understand enough about firewalls, Client and Zscaler to drive troubleshooting and technical conversations.
- Support connectivity associated with migrating devices.
Program ownership & communication
- Bring the various technical teams together.
- Drive status reporting.
- Track movement activities and dependencies.
- Push issues toward resolution rather than simply documenting them.
- Provide clear ownership across workstreams where today there appears to be a gap.
