Technical Scrum Master (#26-27357)

Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced and technically oriented Scrum Lead to drive Agile processes, coordinate development activities, and implement process automation across a portfolio of approximately 30 IT applications supporting American Airlines’ Regional IT operations.

• The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies, Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub, Git, and Markdown, along with a hands-on approach to improving workflows and automating repetitive tasks using approved AI tools.
• This role requires a proactive professional who can manage changing priorities, collaborate closely with leadership and technical teams, remove administrative roadblocks for developers, and continuously improve team efficiency.

• Lead and coordinate Scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Manage project priorities and coordinate developer assignments in collaboration with management and technical leads.
• Build, implement, and improve Agile framework automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual administrative tasks.
• Leverage approved AI tools to automate processes such as user story creation, documentation, and workflow management.
• Work extensively with Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub, Git, and Markdown to support development collaboration and process efficiency.
• Support strategic initiatives, including the migration of code repositories from Azure DevOps to GitHub.
• Track project progress, identify dependencies and blockers, and proactively implement solutions to improve delivery.
• Prepare and communicate project status updates, progress reports, and key metrics to leadership.
• Collaborate with technical leads, architects, software developers, data developers, and Product Managers across Regional IT teams.
• Adapt Agile processes and priorities to meet evolving business and operational requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement practical solutions that enhance team productivity.

• 5+ years of experience in Scrum, Agile delivery, technical project coordination, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience building or implementing Agile process automation and workflow improvements.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitHub.
• Experience with Git and Markdown in software development or technical collaboration environments.
• Experience managing backlogs, sprint activities, work prioritization, and developer coordination.
• Strong understanding of software development workflows and collaboration with technical teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with Aha! roadmapping and product management tools.
• Experience using AI-powered automation tools to improve Agile workflows and team productivity.
• Previous software development experience or a strong technical background.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows, APIs, or development process automation.
• Familiarity with American Airlines’ Product and Agile operating models.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple applications or projects.

• The Scrum Lead will work closely with senior management, technical leads, architects, and approximately 20 software and data developers. The team supports custom development, backend integrations, and data initiatives for American Airlines’ Regional IT operations.
