Location: Greenville, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Salary: $90,000-$105,000/year

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Scientist to provide technical expertise and support for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This role will focus on process development, scale-up, technology transfer, troubleshooting, process improvement, and technical support for the manufacturing of commercial pharmaceutical products within a cGMP-regulated environment.

The Technical Services Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Validation, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturing processes are safe, compliant, efficient, and capable of consistently producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for the safe, compliant, and efficient manufacture of commercial pharmaceutical products.
  • Support the development, optimization, scale-up, and transfer of manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and procedural issues and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Support new product development, process improvements, and technology transfer activities.
  • Generate, revise, and maintain manufacturing batch records and other technical documentation.
  • Investigate manufacturing and packaging deviations and variances, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Lead or support process and equipment validation activities, equipment implementation, and manufacturing process changes.
  • Support scale-up, pilot, engineering, and demonstration batch activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance, efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Review executed batch documentation and provide technical input as needed.
  • Develop and deliver technical training to manufacturing and operations personnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support successful manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with cGMP requirements, SOPs, work instructions, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional technical and project-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical/scientific discipline.
  • Approximately 7+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing or related technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with process development, scale-up, technology transfer, troubleshooting, and/or process improvement.
  • Oral liquid pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information, identify problems, evaluate data, and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
Work Environment

This is an on-site position in Greenville, South Carolina, with a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. The position will involve time in both office/laboratory settings and pharmaceutical manufacturing areas, including the manufacturing floor.

The role may occasionally require flexibility beyond standard working hours based on manufacturing, validation, scale-up, or project needs.
