Contract (1 Year + Possible extension)

Pay Rate: $35- 40 an hour on W2 (DOE)
 
Our manufacturing client is seeking a Welder to perform manual MIG, TIG, and laser welding on components produced through CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate has strong welding skills, attention to detail, and experience working with various materials and joint configurations.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and laser welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and other materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, WPS, and work instructions.
• Perform tack welding, fit-up, final welding, grinding, cleaning, and finishing.
• Set up welding equipment and adjust filler materials, gas flow, wire feed, and other parameters.
• Use fixtures and clamps to properly position components.
• Inspect welds for defects and perform dimensional checks to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Support first article inspections and maintain welding documentation.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and replace consumables as needed.
• Prepare and move components using pallet jacks and organize completed welds for downstream operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S, ISO 9001, hot work, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with CNC, sheet metal, assembly, and quality teams to resolve issues and support production.

 
Work Environment

• Exposure to heavy machinery, powered equipment, welding fumes, noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
• Requires repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, and handling of materials.
• Proper PPE, ventilation, and hot work procedures are required.
• Forklifts are restricted to authorized personnel; pallet jacks may be used by operators.

 
Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of MIG and/or TIG welding experience.
• Certified Welder certification in at least one process.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and metallurgy.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

 
Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing welding experience.
• Experience with laser welding.
• MIG/TIG certifications in multiple processes.
• Experience welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Welding technology/vocational training.
• Familiarity with WPS and NDT methods.
• Forklift certification.
