As a Railcar Technician, you'll help repair, clean and prepare railcars using industrial blasting equipment, power tools and other specialized equipment. You'll also assist with welding, painting and other production activities.
What You'll Do
Assist with railcar repairs, maintenance and preparation.
Operate industrial blasting equipment to remove rust, paint, scale and other materials from railcars.
Prepare railcar surfaces for painting and finishing.
Inspect and clean railcars before and after blasting.
Protect sensitive railcar components during the blasting process.
Assist with welding, painting and other production tasks as needed.
Operate grinders, sanders and other hand and power tools.
Maintain, adjust and clean blasting equipment.
Follow safety procedures and work cooperatively with team members.
What We're Looking For
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial equipment.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Willingness to wear a safety harness and required protective equipment.
Basic reading, writing and math skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Steel-toed boots required.
Must pass a 10-panel drug screening.
Must meet applicable background screening requirements.
Pay & Schedule
$27.00 per hour, including a $2.00 shift differential.
Monday Thursday, 4: 00 PM 2: 30 AM
Overtime on Fridays when required.
Full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity.
