As a Prep & Finish Technician, you’ll perform precision masking by applying thermal spray barrier tape to specific areas of each part.
What you’ll do:
- Precision Masking for Thermal Spray/ Metalizing/ and/or Metal Spray.
- Post processing unmasking.
- Read and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions. Translates instructions into actions.
- Apply thermal barrier tape to specific areas of each part
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect quality and accuracy of run work.
- Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
- Cross train in other complementary skills and seek endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
- Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work with hands in tight spaces on fine, detailed tasks.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
- Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and applications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
