Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support a large-scale transformation initiative focused on modernizing legacy systems and automating manual processes. This role will work closely with engineering teams to design, develop, and implement automation solutions in a mainframe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for legacy systems
- Support transition of manual processes to automated workflows
- Analyze business and user requirements and translate into technical designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the SDLC lifecycle
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, bugs, and production incidents
- Contribute to planning and execution of software engineering deliverables
- Work with stakeholders to meet compliance and system requirements
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience (or equivalent)
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- CA7 Scheduler (job automation)
- Hogan Mainframe Systems (CIS, Umbrella, Deposits)
- COBOL & JCL development
- REXX & SORT utilities
- DB2 / IMS
- SQL
- Ability to:
- Debug and troubleshoot independently
- Work in enterprise-level environments
- Collaborate across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IT Project Management (nice to have)
- Familiarity with large-scale transformation or modernization projects
