Overview

Warner Bros. Discovery''s Licensing and Publishing Technology team is seeking a Business Analyst to lead data-driven initiatives supporting our DC Comics Publishing business. This role blends advanced analytics, Power BI expertise, and ERP optimization to drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. The Business Analyst will collaborate across functional teams to build scalable data infrastructure, deliver actionable insights, and enhance our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Reporting & Data Analytics - 60%

• Lead the design and development of Power BI dashboards that deliver real-time insights across sales, finance, and publishing operations.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to define and implement data models, mapping diagrams, and self-service datasets.
• Conduct data rationalization exercises to optimize data storage and management across data lakes, warehouses, and product systems.
• Develop data dictionaries, KPIs, and visualization standards to translate complex business needs into intuitive insights.
• Drive adoption of Power BI through training, documentation, and user support.

Business Process Optimization - 30%

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Operations, and Publishing.
• Translate user needs into functional design specifications, mockups, and wireframes.
• Document and assess current vs. future-state workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
• Analyze system dependencies to ensure cohesive solution design across platforms.
• Draft functional specifications, test scripts, and execution results; lead QA/UAT testing for ERP enhancements and reporting releases.

Project & Ad Hoc Support - 10%

• Maintain project documentation including status reports, risk logs, and issue registers.
• Support ad-hoc analysis and contribute to strategic initiatives across the publishing technology landscape.

Key Deliverables

• Production-ready Power BI dashboards, datasets, and data dictionaries.
• Well-documented business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
• Comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and documented results with approvals.
• Clear data flow diagrams, mapping documentation, and process models.
• Up-to-date status reports, risk logs, and issue registers.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with focus on data analytics, reporting, and ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong experience with ETL processes, data modeling, data architecture, and exposure to AI/ML data solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Experience applying design thinking to develop user-centric solutions and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Media & Entertainment or Publishing industries.
• Familiarity with publishing workflows and product lifecycle management.
• Experience with customized ERP applications and scalable data infrastructure design.
