This full-time position focuses on keeping the technology our students and staff depend on working and available, including the student Chromebook fleet, staff laptops, classroom displays, and printing, and on resolving the everyday issues that matter a great deal to the people who encounter them. Ideal candidate has hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing devices and enjoys being the person who gets things working again. School-based experience is ideal, but candidates with relevant experience in similar settings are encouraged to apply. First and foremost, were looking for someone with strong communication and organizational skills, the patience to help colleagues with a wide range of comfort with technology, and the ability to build relationships, work independently, and as part of a collaborative team. Until now, this work has been carried by our co-directors and other senior leaders, in addition to their own roles. We are hiring for it because it matters too much to keep fitting into the margins of someone elses day. Our first priority is the day-to-day support described above, and that is what this role is. We are also a school with real opportunity in educational technology, and if you bring genuine instructional technology experience alongside the hands-on skills, we want to hear from you. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.Job RequirementsStudent Device ManagementPrepare, configure, and assign Chromebooks for student useTroubleshoot student devices that will not power on, will not charge, or will not hold a wifi connectionMaintain and repair Chromebook charging stations and cartsCollect, inventory, service, and redistribute the student device fleet at the start and end of each school yearRepair or coordinate repair of cracked screens and other damaged devicesSupport student login and account access issues; escalate what cannot be resolved directlyKeep an accurate record of which device is assigned to which studentStaff Device Support - Hardware and First-Line TroubleshootingSet up laptops for new staff, including printer connections and standard applicationsDiagnose and resolve hardware issues such as cracked screens, failing chargers, damaged ports, and battery problemsManage the device repair pipeline, including tracking devices sent out for serviceRun and troubleshoot software updates across the applications staff use daily (macOS, Zoom, Slack, and our other core systems), using administrator credentials where authorizedResolve application launch and login problems that keep staff from getting into the tools they needMaintain a small loaner pool so staff are not without a working deviceExercise care and discretion when working on staff and student devices, which may contain sensitive informationPrinting and CopyingInstall and connect printers for staff across all studiosReplace toner and maintain adequate toner supplyClear paper jams and resolve printers that are not respondingCoordinate service calls with the copier vendorClassroom and Building AVTroubleshoot classroom televisions that will not power on, are stuck, or are not displayingSupport screen mirroring, casting, and HDMI connections between laptops and classroom displaysMaintain the digital signage displays in the Wayfinding Center and other common spacesTrack and replace remotes, cables, and adaptersSet up and support AV for graduation, presentations, and other eventsMount, move, and remove televisions and displays, coordinating with the Facilities Management SpecialistInventory, Accounts, and SystemsMaintain an organized inventory of devices, including asset tags, serial numbers, and warranty statusCommunicate with leadership regarding equipment needs, ordering, and replacement cyclesPerform basic Google Workspace account tasks under the direction of the technology leadManage electronic waste, including proper disposal of retired devices and equipmentRequest Management and CommunicationMonitor the staff technology request form and respond to incoming requestsLog work completed and keep the request record currentCommunicate clearly with staff about what is being done and when to expect itPrioritize across competing requests, recognizing that a device that isnt working stops a students dayVendor and Consultant CoordinationCopier and printer service vendorsDevice repair and warranty vendorsExternal technology consultantInstructional Technology Support (Scaled to the successful candidate)Support staff in using classroom technology well, not only in getting it workingProvide short, practical how-to support to individuals and small groupsBuild and maintain simple written guidance for the tasks staff ask about most oftenContribute to piloting and evaluating educational technology tools alongside academic leadershipOur immediate need is the support work described above, and that is where this role will focus.
