Under direct supervision of the Working Supervisor or Field Maintenance Supervisor, this position involves operating trucks, snowplows and other equipment as required to maintain the airport in an operational condition. Working assigned shifts, the Driver is required to be available for overtime during the snow season to operate snow removal equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Employee may be assigned to additional shifts, which encompass a twenty-four hour day, seven day per week operation, including holidays. Subject to remain on duty beyond assigned working hours to provide assistance during emergency situations, peak periods or extenuating circumstances.
Medical Examination
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) physical examination and respirator medical clearance performed by the Authority's examining physician. Hearing ability must meet the standards / levels, as required by the Department of Transportation guidelines.
Drug Testing
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) drug screening. Continued employment may be subject to drug and alcohol testing conducted without advance notice and without individualized suspicion.
Pre-employment Background Investigation
Ability to successfully pass a thorough investigation consisting of a criminal history check (including but not limited to the requirements of TSR/CFR 1542.209 and 1542.3), verification of prior employment and performance, reference and credentials checks, and in some cases credit history.
