Temp HR Manager

I'm partnering with a food manufacturing business seeking a proactive HR Manager to support plant staffing needs in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Director of Plant HR, your primary focus will be driving recruitment, coordinating with temporary staffing agencies, and helping the plant staff up quickly. Employee relations and other day-to-day HR responsibilities will be a secondary focus.

Our client is an established food manufacturer seeking a hands-on HR leader to support recruiting and workforce growth in a fast-paced plant environment.

Description

• Oversee plant recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, prioritize openings, and keep hiring moving.
• Coordinate the recruitment process, including candidate screening, interview scheduling, hiring manager feedback, and onboarding.
• Serve as the main contact for temporary staffing agencies, communicating workforce needs, monitoring candidate quality, and addressing staffing gaps.
• Support staffing ramp-ups, ensuring new hires are ready to start and managers have visibility into hiring progress.
• Track open roles, recruiting activity, and agency performance, proactively flagging challenges and recommending solutions.
• Partner with plant leadership to anticipate workforce needs and adjust recruiting priorities as business demands shift.
• Provide secondary support for employee relations, policy guidance, and other day-to-day HR matters as needed.

Profile

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with manufacturing plant experience required.
• Strong experience overseeing recruitment, supporting staffing ramp-ups, and managing temporary staffing agency relationships.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and follow-through, with confidence partnering with plant leaders, hiring managers, and agency contacts.
• ADP Lyric experience is a plus.
• Availability to work onsite in Pittsburgh five days per week.
