In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with cognitive and ADL physical functioning disorders. You will develop personalized care plans based on standardized assessments and evidence-based practices, delivering skilled, medically necessary interventions. Your duties will include administering therapies such as ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, activities, modalities, and assisting patients with supportive and assistive devices. You will monitor patient progress, modify treatments as needed, and assess outcomes to ensure optimal recovery results.

Effective communication and collaboration are essential, as you will provide counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members about treatment plans and progress. Documentation is critical; you will maintain comprehensive records in accordance with regulatory standards, including discharge summaries and treatment minutes. Participation in multidisciplinary meetings, facility trainings, and compliance with all clinical and regulatory protocols are integral parts of your role. Supervisory responsibilities include supporting occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students when applicable.

Required Skills:
  • Valid OT license and NBCOT certification
  • Proficiency in evaluating and treating cognitive and physical functioning disorders
  • Knowledge of regulatory and clinical practice standards
  • Ability to develop and modify individualized treatment plans
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities
  • Ability to supervise OT assistants and students

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably LTC
  • Current state licensure and certification in good standing

  • Flexibility to work days in Haverhill, MA
  • Willingness to participate in trainings, meetings, and continuous education
  • Travel reimbursement applicable for any off-site engagements as necessary
