What You’ll Do

• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including fixing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
• Use microtomes or cryostats to cut tissue sections.
• Mount tissue samples on slides and stain to highlight abnormalities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Manage laboratory supplies and quality control procedures.
• Recognize factors that can impact procedure quality and take corrective actions as needed.

What You Need
Required:

• Relevant technologist license (if applicable)
• Experience in histology or pathology labs
• Ability to perform tissue embedding, cutting, and staining procedures

Preferred:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
