Job Summary

Join the Richardson sanitation team as a Trash/Sanitation Helper and help keep collection routes moving safely and reliably. You’ll support garbage truck operations, assist with loading and unloading, and work outdoors alongside drivers and crew members. This is an immediate-hire opportunity for a dependable team member who can handle physical work and follow safety procedures.

Skills

• Required: Ability to perform heavy lifting, work outdoors, and follow safety protocols; reliable driving awareness and route-driving readiness.
• Preferred: Delivery driver experience, commercial driving, and familiarity with garbage trucks, front-end loaders, front-loader or rear-loader trucks, and roll-off trucks.
• Ability to follow traffic laws, DOT and state transportation regulations, and hazardous materials requirements; experience with load-and-unload tasks is an asset.

TRASH HELPER

A & Associates is looking for eager and professional candidates to work as full time and part-time Trash Helpers.

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, collects residential and commercial refuse on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and handle 50 pounds.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Eight (8th) grade school completion.

NATURE OF WORK

• Assist with solid waste collection and municipal waste management on assigned routes.
• Load and unload waste, guide safe vehicle movement, and support front-loader, rear-loader, and roll-off truck operations as assigned.
• This is heavy manual labor in the collection and disposal of refuse and recyclable material, including yard trash.
• Employees in this class perform routine work as part of a crew in collecting garbage, refuse, recyclables, yard trash and other waste materials, and in transporting them to the designated disposal and recycling locations.
• Work is characterized by the necessity for considerable physical exertion and by close daily contact with unpleasant materials.
• Employees are expected to work out-of-doors regardless of weather.
• Responsible for picking up brush and general clean up.
• All work is closely supervised by the truck driver in charge of the crew.
• Follow safety protocols, traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, state transportation regulations, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Communicate respectfully with customers and crew members, providing helpful customer service during collection work.
• Your impact: Careful loading and safe route support help crews complete collections while protecting the public and keeping service dependable.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

• Ability and willingness to work with unpleasant waste materials.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Sufficient physical strength and ability to lift, move, and carry very heavy objects.
• Willingness to work under all conditions of weather.

COMPENSATION/SHIFT

• This job pays between $17.00- $19.00/hr.
• Shift ranges 7 days a week.
• Starting at 6:00am- 6:30am, CDT.
• This is a temporary assignment, but guarantees 40 hours a week, sometimes, paying for a full day with supervisor approvals even if the route ends early.
