Department Summary:
University Health and Counseling (UHC) is part of the Division of Student Life at the University of Michigan. The UHC Physical Therapy clinic provides physical therapy to currently enrolled students at the University of Michigan with acute and chronic injuries or illnesses.

The physical therapy department staff includes physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, student volunteers and student employees who provide clinic support, and clerical staff.
Position Summary:
To assess, plan, and implement individualized physical therapy treatment programs for patients with acute and chronic injuries, diseases, disorders, and disabilities to relieve pain, develop or restore physical function, wellness, fitness, and quality of life as it relates to movement and health, as prescribed by the referring clinician. To delegate to and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs). To supervise Physical Therapy students in their clinical internships at UHS.

Selected candidates whose start date is between 4/1/2026 - 9/1/2026 will not be eligible for the university FY26-27 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.
Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Position Responsibilities Criteria (leadership and behavioral qualities expected in this position):
Working Conditions:
Physical Therapy clinic hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday- Friday. Part-time hours are to be agreed upon by the candidate and supervisor in the time window of clinic hours.
Physical Requirements:
Able to move and transport patients or objects weighing 25lbs.
