    Description

    The Department of Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics (NExT) in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine seeks to fill one (1) Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position for a full time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the fall of 2026. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Assistant Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

    As a tenure-track assistant professor, faculty are responsible for teaching, research, and service.

    The ideal candidate's research program will fill a critical knowledge gap that will complement existing research strengths in the department (see http://medicine.tamhsc.edu/next/faculty/index.html), with novel in vivo behavioral and sleep recording, electrophysiological, flow cytometry technologies that will enable the candidate and department to be competitive for extramural funding.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree in neuroscience or a relevant/related field.
    • Demonstrated record of research productivity.
    • High level of expertise in aging and dementia research, and in the study of circadian dysregulation in Alzheimer's Disease.
    • Experience with in vivo behavioral and sleep recording, electrophysiology, and flow cytometry technologies.
    • Evidence of ability to secure extramural funding.
    • Strong track record of collaborative research and team-based funding.
    • Commitment to teaching and mentoring in graduate and medical programs.

    Preferred:

    • Evidence of interdisciplinary research.
    • Evidence of innovative use of cognitive, social, and circadian behavioral analyses..
    • Familiarity with optogenic/pharmacogenetic sensors or behavioral neurophysiology.
