Outside Sales Representative – Georgia

Location: Atlanta, GA (Home Base)

Territory: Georgia with the majority of the focus within 100 miles of Atlanta

Travel: Minimal overnight travel required, local travel expected on a regular basis calling on new customers and existing accounts.


Company Overview

A privately owned, ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer and supplier of welding consumables and specialty alloy products is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to support continued growth across the U.S.

The organization has a long-standing reputation in the industrial welding space and offers one of the industry’s most comprehensive inventories of stainless, nickel, aluminum, steel, chrome-moly, and specialty alloy welding consumables. Products are supplied directly to industrial end users as well as through established welding and industrial gas distribution partners nationwide.


Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth across the Atlanta / Georgia territory. This individual will develop new business opportunities, expand existing customer relationships, and represent a broad portfolio of welding consumables and specialty alloy products.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of welding processes and products, along with established relationships across welding distribution, industrial gas distribution, and industrial manufacturing end users.

This is a highly visible, field-based sales role focused on consultative selling, territory expansion, and long-term customer partnerships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales within the Greater Atlanta territory through direct engagement with industrial end users
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across fabrication, manufacturing, energy, shipbuilding, aerospace, food processing, chemical, and related industries
  • Maintain and expand relationships with key end-user accounts, which are the primary customer base (not distribution)
  • Provide technical support and product recommendations across welding wire, electrodes, flux-cored wire, stainless, nickel, aluminum, and specialty alloys
  • Conduct customer visits, product discussions, and demonstrations to support revenue growth
  • Manage territory activity including pipeline development, forecasting, quoting, and account planning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong customer responsiveness and service levels
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and pricing within the territory
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, and sales meetings as needed


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience in welding, industrial gas, metal fabrication, or industrial distribution industries
  • Strong technical understanding of welding consumables and applications required
  • Proven ability to develop business with both distributors and direct industrial end users
  • Experience working through welding distribution and industrial gas channels
  • Existing relationships within the Georgia welding and fabrication market strongly preferred
  • Self-driven sales professional with strong communication and territory management skills
  • Willingness to travel overnight throughout the Georgia region
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and remote communication tools


Preferred Background

  • Experience with MIG, TIG, flux-cored, stainless, nickel alloy, aluminum, or specialty welding consumables
  • Understanding of welding procedures and fabrication environments within industrial manufacturing
  • Experience in the metalworking manufacturing sector including fabricating, casting, machining, polishing, etc.
  • Background working with privately held or entrepreneurial industrial suppliers is a plus
