Territory Sales Manager – Industrial Cutting Tools


Territory: Florida Panhandle, Southern Alabama & Southern Mississippi

(Primarily the I-10 Corridor from Jacksonville, FL to Biloxi, MS)


Industry: Precision Cutting Tools / Industrial Manufacturing

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Remote – Tallahassee or Pensacola preferred


Travel: Approximately 60–70% (day travel with occasional overnight travel)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive sales growth throughout the Florida Panhandle, Southern Alabama, and Southern Mississippi. This individual contributor role is responsible for managing distributor relationships while creating end-user demand through technical sales, application support, and strategic business development.

The successful candidate will work closely with industrial distributors, machine shops, OEMs, contract manufacturers, and production facilities to identify opportunities where advanced cutting tool solutions can improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and lower overall manufacturing costs.

This is a highly visible field sales position requiring an individual who enjoys building relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and serving as a trusted technical resource for both distribution partners and end users.

Candidates should reside within the territory, with Tallahassee or Pensacola preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Grow sales throughout the assigned territory by supporting industrial distribution partners while developing demand with end-user manufacturers.
  • Conduct joint sales calls with distributor sales representatives to identify opportunities and increase market share.
  • Develop relationships with manufacturing engineers, production managers, machinists, programmers, and purchasing professionals.
  • Identify new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships throughout the territory.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding cutting tool selection, machining strategies, speeds and feeds, tool optimization, and productivity improvements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, application evaluations, and technical presentations for distributors and end users.
  • Collaborate with distributor management to execute territory growth strategies and sales initiatives.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately manage opportunities using the company's CRM platform.
  • Forecast sales activity and develop strategic territory plans to achieve annual growth objectives.
  • Represent the company at distributor events, trade shows, customer seminars, and industry meetings.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive products, machining technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Effectively manage travel schedules and territory planning to maximize customer coverage and sales productivity.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of outside sales experience within the cutting tool, metalworking, machining, or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Experience selling through industrial distribution while maintaining direct relationships with end-user manufacturers.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, carbide cutting tools, milling, drilling, threading, and holemaking applications.
  • Experience supporting machine shops, OEMs, aerospace, medical, automotive, or precision manufacturing customers preferred.
  • Ability to understand machining applications and recommend productivity improvements through engineered tooling solutions.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business while growing existing accounts.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and territory management abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60–70% throughout the assigned territory.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
