Overview:

The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a TES Research Assistant. The selected candidate will provide technical support to biosystems engineering programs.

 

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being: 
 
  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time 
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads 
  • Assistance with special projects 
  • Seasonal work 
  • Emergencies

Responsibilities:

Essential functions but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with Precision Agriculture work in the department
  • Assist with managing Biosystems Engineering geospatial
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance of research and teaching equipment
  • Assist with logistical operations that include equipment, materials and labor needs
  • Record, compile, process, and analyze data/samples
  • Assist with preparation of documents for publications and presentations
  • Assist with execution of funded projects and planning of meetings
  • Communicates with Biosystems Engineering faculty and staff, and appropriate offices regarding assessment data
  • Assist with equipment inventories, and work orders
  • Assist with execution of funded projects and planning of meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department head
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Technology Management, Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other closely related technology field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Pay Range: USD $20.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
