Job Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a Test Engineer III to design and execute comprehensive verification and validation strategies for autonomous robotic systems.

This role will lead the development of test plans, test suites, test cases, data collection strategies, and test environments across the full system lifecycle. The Test Engineer will work hands-on with hardware, software, embedded systems, communications, and integrated autonomous platforms; analyze test data to identify trends and root causes; and provide data-driven recommendations regarding system capabilities, readiness, risks, and mitigations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program, engineering, test, and end-user teams to understand system concepts of operation, use cases, and requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
• Design, develop, prioritize, and execute comprehensive test plans, test suites, test cases, and data collection plans for hardware, software, and integrated robotic systems.
• Define test track requirements and support the development of test fixtures, instrumentation, and hardware-in-the-loop/software-in-the-loop (HIL/SIL) environments.
• Develop and maintain scalable test automation using Python and/or C++ to improve test coverage, efficiency, reliability, and durability.
• Perform hands-on testing and debugging of embedded and system-level mechanical, electrical, software, and communications systems, including embedded firmware and autonomous command-and-control software.
• Define test metrics and success criteria; coordinate autonomous and human-in-the-loop data collection; and analyze and post-process test data to identify trends, failures, root causes, and system performance.
• Work closely with systems, software, mechatronics, reliability, and other engineering teams to align testing with system requirements and development activities.
• Author test documentation, maintain test backlogs, track issues and results to requirements, and prepare detailed test reports and fielding recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement of test processes, methodologies, automation, and environments across the product development lifecycle.

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent test engineering experience may be considered.
• 7–10 years of experience in test engineering or a related role, with demonstrated experience developing and managing test strategies and plans for complex systems.
• Strong understanding of requirements and systems engineering principles and the product/test development lifecycle.
• Experience designing test strategies, data collection plans, test processes, and data analysis methods.
• Familiarity with test instrumentation and human/system data collection.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or C++.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with Jira, Jama, or similar requirements and test traceability tools.

• Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience testing robotics or autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and common robotics tools and libraries.
• Experience with HIL/SIL testing and simulation environments, such as Gazebo.
• Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols including CAN, I2C, and SPI.
• Experience developing automated test frameworks or working with software development and quality engineering teams.
