This role involves processing scheduling requests for proctored academic assessments from colleges and departments across campus, for students with testing accommodations, including securing appropriate resources (staffing, space and materials) to proctor assessments throughout the academic year, with a significant increase in services provided at mid-term and final exam times.

Test Proctoring Coordinator, Disability Services appreciates the importance of test integrity, and the need to maintain control over the testing process to ensure that test proctoring happens appropriately. The Test Proctoring Coordinator, Disability Services explains process or procedure to constituents and may need to engage in diplomatic dispute resolution to ensure policy and practice are followed. This role is responsible for execution, evaluation and improvement of test proctoring practices in the unit as well as making proactive connections to campus partners to both teach them about policy and procedure and to receive feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute proctored tests in support of institutional obligations to provide testing accommodations (including scheduling, gathering test materials, giving the test, and appropriately returning test materials to the course instructor)
  • Supervise Graduate level student workers who support the test proctoring process
  • Collaborate with campus partners to educate them on unit processes, and solicit feedback on operational adjustments/improvements
  • Support the ODS Director with purchasing, invoice processing, and basic budget maintenance
  • Maintain test proctoring space (organization, proper stocking of necessary materials, placement/replacement of furniture and features needed to proctor tests appropriately)
  • Responsible for hiring, training and management of the ODS Testing graduate student workers to support the operations of the testing center.
  • Common problem solving includes securing additional resources necessary for surge times, and addressing issues experienced during testing, and those that may arise when unit procedures are not followed by service-users.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years' experience being responsible for specific operations within an office or organizational unit
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • The ability to manage time and multiple, disparate responsibilities simultaneously is essential to success in this position
  • Ability to relate diplomatically with students, parents, faculty and staff
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Communications or related field of study
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity working with emerging adults in an educational setting
  • Experience working with individuals with disabling conditions
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and improving workplace processes
  • Experience making connections with business partners to maintain and improve working relationships
