Role description

The Asian Art Museum is seeking as needed Security Guards to join our team. Appointment Type: This recruitment is for a As Needed, Temporary Exempt (TEX) position. This position is at- will and exempt from the civil service rules pursuant to the San Francisco Charter Section 10.104. Nature of Work: Typical shifts include the following:Varying days, evening shiftsAs needed for events and coveragePlease note, hours will be based on operational need and there is no guarantee of work assignment/hours. Applicants will be assigned to as-needed shifts at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco located at 200 Larkin Street. San Francisco, CA, 94102. This position is typically assigned to a standing and walking post.POSITION DESCRIPTIONUnder general supervision, the Security Guard patrols public buildings and grounds to safeguard property against damage, hazardous situations or unauthorized entry and performs other related duties as required. How to qualify

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe minimum qualifications listed below establish the basic requirements to be considered for this position:One year of verifiable experience as a security officer; ANDPossession of a current California Security Guard Registration Card issued by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services; ANDPossession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate; ANDPossession of a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe desire qualifications listed below may be used to identify finalist at the end of the selection process:Experience working in a museum or at a cultural institutionExperience with working near fragile and/or valuable materialsVERIFICATION: Applicants may be required to submit verification of qualifying education and experience at any point during the recruitment and selection process.
