The Design School

The Design School in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at ASU invites applications for part-time Faculty Associate appointments in Interior Architecture for Spring 2027. The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associates positions are one semester, non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

Faculty Associate assignments are paid $1,500 - 2,000 per credit hour, depending on the component, over the length of the session.

Anticipated start date is: Spring 2027 Session A, B, or C

Essential Duties:

• Prepare and deliver course content, including lectures, exercises, and critiques.

• Evaluate student work and provide timely feedback.

• Assist students through office hours, seminars, or online forums.

• Support course administration as needed (e.g., syllabus preparation, coordination with teaching assistants).

• Teach in one or more of the following modalities: in person, online, or hybrid.
