The Sara and Curt Moll Professorship in Adolescent Mental Health and Well-Being

TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY. The Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position, open rank, to begin July 1, 2027 whose scholarly focus is in the area(s) of advancing adolescent and young adults mental health and well-being, and addressing critical issues in this population such as but not limited to: anxiety, depression and/or suicide, as well as understanding reactions to stressors as part of normal development. The individual will advance cutting-edge clinical work, research in their field, and community outreach in areas relevant to the mental health and wellbeing of adolescents and young adults. Applicants are encouraged to indicate how their work might complement existing areas of strength in the department. A Ph.D. in Psychology is required by the time of appointment, with a requirement to acquire licensure in Ohio. The department offers a Ph.D. program in clinical psychology, in both child and adult areas, is highly competitive, and has been continually accredited since 1948.

This position is part of six new faculty lines to be added because of an exciting $60 million investment to help address the growing mental health crisis within and beyond Northeast Ohio. The Sara and Curt Moll Institute for Mental Health and Well-Being will combine clinical collaborations, research and community outreach to increase access to mental health care providers, catalyze breakthrough discoveries for advancing mental health, and help ensure that research-backed approaches reach the people who need them most. Additionally, the Moll Institute will serve as a hub for hosting collaboration among faculty ranging from such disciplines as psychiatry, neuroscience, medicine and nursing-while also nurturing and expanding ongoing partnerships with community agencies, organizations, and other universities from around the nation and the world.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated training and experience that align with the mission of the Moll Institute as related to the mental health and wellbeing of adolescents. A successful candidate must have an impressive record of scholarship consistent with rank, and the potential for or demonstrated record of high levels of external funding. Applicants who engage in clinical practice and apply a range of research methodologies and community-engaged approaches in their work will be most competitive.
