Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in welding various metals using TIG welding techniques. The primary responsibility of this role is to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to blueprints and specifications. The TIG Welder should possess strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to determine project requirements.
Set up welding equipment and select appropriate tools and materials for each job.
Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, grease, and other contaminants.
TIG welds a variety of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium, ensuring proper penetration, fusion, and appearance.
Monitor welding processes to avoid overheating, distortion, or other defects.
Perform welding in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as required by the project.
Inspect welds for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specifications using visual inspection and measuring tools.
Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
Continuously strive to improve welding techniques and stay updated on industry advancements and best practices.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a TIG Welder or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and ability to weld various metals to high standards.
Strong understanding of welding principles, metallurgy, and metal fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Familiarity with welding equipment such as TIG welders, torches, electrodes, and filler rods.
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to welding operations.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise welding operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues as they arise.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in welding is a plus.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods.
