K&S Tire Recycling is looking for a dependable and experienced Tire Grader / Used Tire Inspector to join our team.
The Tire Grader plays an important role in our operation by inspecting incoming used tires and determining which tires are suitable for resale and which should be recycled.
Our Tire Graders are responsible for making accurate and consistent decisions that directly affect the quality of our inventory and the performance of our operation.
Primary Responsibilities
Inspect and grade passenger, light truck, and other used tires
Determine whether tires are suitable for resale or should be sent for recycling
Inspect tires for tread depth, overall condition, age, size, and usability
Identify visible defects, including:
Sidewall damage
Tread damage
Cracking and dry rot
Uneven or excessive wear
Exposed cords or belts
Bead damage
Punctures, patches, and previous repairs
Other conditions that may make a tire unsuitable for resale
Read and identify tire sizes and specifications
Sort graded tires by size, type, condition, and designated category
Stack, organize, and move graded tires to assigned storage areas
Maintain accuracy and consistency when grading tires
Help maintain an organized tire inventory and grading area
Move tires manually and with hand trucks/dollies as needed
Assist with loading and unloading tires when required
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Follow all company safety procedures
Work safely around forklifts, loaders, trucks, conveyors, and other moving equipment
Requirements
Previous experience with tire installation and repair, automotive service, used tire sales, working in a tire shop, or tire recycling is strongly preferred.
Ideal candidates MUST have experience in:
At least 1 year of used tire grading or tire inspection
Passenger and light-truck tire identification
Tire warehouses or distribution
The right candidate should be able to quickly learn and consistently follow K&S Tire Recycling's grading standards.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position. Employees must be able to:
Regularly lift and handle tires throughout the workday
Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Stand and walk for extended periods
Frequently bend, reach, lift, push, pull, roll, and stack tires
Perform repetitive physical work
Work indoors and outdoors as required
Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Safely work in an active industrial environment

Eligible to work in the United States
Benefits
Compensation: 18-20 USD hourly
Accrued Paid Time Off (40 hours per year starting after 90-day probation period)
