Roles and Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow tissue laboratory protocols and procedures for individual and team activities.

• Perform daily laboratory activities, including lab setup, tissue receipt, tissue preparation, equipment setup, and lab closure.

• Safely operate laboratory equipment according to written procedures and protocols.

• Become familiar with various tissue testing methods performed in the laboratory.

• Perform tissue measurements, gluing, holding, and related preparation activities.

• Record test data accurately using handwritten or electronic formats in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

• Set up laboratory equipment, fixtures, and software, and perform verification checks.

• Configure laboratory spaces according to different testing requirements.

• Cross-train in other laboratory areas, such as mechanical and materials laboratories.

• Support the preparation of complex data sheets and written test reports.

• Read and understand C&S (Cleaning and Sterilization) protocols and related technical terminology.

• Initiate and monitor the life cycle of cleaning and sterilization processes.

• Move medical devices through ultrasonic cleaners, automated washers, and autoclaves according to established protocols.

• Inspect devices for visual defects, abnormalities, or differences after washing.

• Record and enter data into Excel spreadsheets and written reports.

• Prepare batches of regularly used cleaning solutions as required.

• Read equipment procedures and understand the correct operation of laboratory equipment.

• Troubleshoot equipment errors and identify potential issues.

• Change or replace chemicals in machines and cleaning stations according to procedures.

• Verify that other technicians are following established procedures correctly.

• Communicate effectively with clients and engineers through written and verbal communication.

• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing client requirements and deadlines.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
