Role Summary
To perform maintenance, service, and repair work on large and small tool & dies regarding engineering changes and improvements,
Key Responsibilities
- General drilling and tapping, milling, turning, and grinding - cylindrical & surface - in the tool room.
- Service work on all dies in the Press Shop.
- Repair in the press during failure.
- Ensure quality of press parts by optimized die maintenance.
- Responsible for spare parts stock
- Servicing of dies with stamping nuts and supportive equipment.
- PM (Preventive Maintenance on Tooling)
- Re-construction of dies: turning, milling, drilling, and grinding
- Spotting of dies
- MIG, TIG, Stick welding
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; required
- Toolmaker Apprenticeship/Journeyman preferred
- Associate degree in machining preferred
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of Five (5) years automotive tool & die experience preferred
- Class A automotive experience preferred
- Knowledge in pneumatics
- Experience with nut setting equipment
- Standard parts
- MIG, TIG, Stick welding, hard brazing
- Basic CAD drawing knowledge
- Metric System
- Basic knowledge of press operation
