Position Overview

Victory Tool is looking for a motivated Tool Designer Intern who wants to develop a career in tool and die design. You'll work alongside experienced designers and toolmakers, assisting with the design of metal stamping dies while learning the practical design and manufacturing principles behind metal stamping dies.

This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates in engineering technology, mechanical design, CAD, or related manufacturing programs.

This internship is specifically intended for students enrolled in a two-year technical program such as Mechanical Design, CAD Drafting, Tool Design, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, CNC Programming, or a similar hands-on manufacturing discipline.

Candidates pursuing traditional four-year Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering bachelor's programs are generally not the focus of this position.

What You Will Do

• Train in designing metal stamping dies using CAD software
• Create and update detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies
• Support senior designers with tooling concepts, revisions, and documentation
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings
• Work closely with toolmakers to understand how designs are manufactured and assembled
• Learn metal stamping processes, die construction, and best design practices
• Assist with troubleshooting and implementing design improvements
• Help maintain engineering documentation and project records

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a 2-year Associate Degree (AAS) or technical diploma program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in how things work
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, but other 3D CAD experience is welcome)
• Manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or toolroom experience is a plus, but not required
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn from experienced designers and toolmakers
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Positive attitude, curiosity, and a desire to build a long-term career in manufacturing
