Tooling Operations Scheduler & Vendor Liaison

We’re recruiting on behalf of a manufacturing organization seeking a Tooling Operations Scheduler & Vendor Liaison to take full ownership of the toolroom planning function during a period of organizational transition.

Location: Milwaukee 53209 (On-site) | Engagement: Temporary, 10–26 weeks | Pay: $20–$25/hour

A day in the role

You arrive to a live production schedule and a list of open tooling tickets. You finalize the day’s priorities, align with production leaders, release purchase requisitions, and touch base with suppliers to confirm repair ETAs. Midday is dedicated to tracking deliveries and expediting critical parts. By afternoon, you rebalance the week’s plan based on new demands and close the loop with stakeholders so tomorrow starts on time.

What you will do

• Build and manage daily/weekly toolroom schedules in step with manufacturing needs.
• Coordinate repairs, modifications, calibrations, and outsourced vendor work.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tooling suppliers and service providers.
• Track vendor performance, delivery commitments, and service quality to meet uptime goals.
• Create and monitor purchasing requisitions; expedite orders for tooling parts, consumables, and services.

What you bring

• Hands-on experience working with external vendors to secure on-time delivery.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counting and Kanban.
• Background creating/tracking purchase requisitions and accelerating orders when needed.
• Strong Excel capabilities and familiarity with ERP/MRP inventory systems.
• Exceptional organization, analysis, and communication to juggle multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in SAP and experience as a Maintenance Planner (or similar planning function).
