Carlisle Construction Materials is now hiring Production Operators to join our team in Carlisle, PA.

In this position, you will operate various types of production equipment. We will train dependable individuals with a desire to work as a part of a team in a successful and growing manufacturing company.

Compensation:

$27.21/hr to start, then receive an increase to $34.40/hr after 6 months

$1.00 shift differential per hour while working 3rd shift

$1.50 shift differential per hour while working 2nd shift

Schedule:

• Rotating 1st/2nd shift

• 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

• 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday

• 3rd shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am, Sunday - Thursday nights

• Availability for overtime may be required, based on business needs

Job Summary:

The TPO Utility position performs necessary tasks to maintain the proper flow of material at the TPO, compounding, and blending lines. This position is responsible for operation of the compounding station, blending station, extruder, calendar, winder, and packaging to produce TPO sheeting products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Completing production and quality assurance (QA) paperwork
• Following the Total Product Maintenance program
• Maintaining 5S requirements
• Setting up equipment and producing product by following the processing specifications
• Assuming the role of Team leader when required due to vacations, meetings, and absenteeism of the TPO team leader
• Calculating and reporting output
• Identifying product and tracking output using SFIS (Shop Floor Information System) equipment
• Completing maintenance work orders
• Verifying accuracy of productivity and quality assurance information generated during the shift, and pursuing corrections for inefficiencies
• Training new crew members

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge:

• Processing specifications and grading standards for all the products produced on the TPO line and at compounding and blending lines

• Operation of the SFIS, NDC, and the HMI process control computer

• Operation of the extruder, 3 roll calendar, bridge crane, sheet winder, and packaging machines

• Fork truck operation

• Skills:

• Reading and comprehension of processing specifications, grading standards, EDC prompts, SFIC prompts, gauges, and meters

• Mathematical calculations including calculations of output, sheet length, linear feet, and basic algebraic equations

• Completing work orders, Lockout/Tagout book entries, incident reports, production paperwork, and quality assurance paperwork

• Computer skills including using the SFIS computer, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to send electronic communications, write reports, prepare postings, develop check sheets, and prepare method sheets

• Problem solving and troubleshooting

• Abilities:

• Communicating with other members of the crew, supervisors, and other members of the plant

Education & Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma

• Equivalent: GED

• Experience: No previous manufacturing experience required

Equipment & Data Used:

• Equipment run on the job: Computers, Fork truck, overhead cranes, twin screw mixer, 3 roll calendar, compounding line, blending line, SFIS terminals, printers, and all other auxiliary equipment at the lines
• Tools required on the job: Knives, scissors, thickness gauges, tape measures, writing utensils, and miscellaneous hand tools for minor adjustments
• Data used on the job: Processing specifications, grading standards, internal office memos, quality reports, production schedules, SFIS reports, and electronic communications

Work Environment/Time Worked:

• Work Environment:

• Plant ambient temperature in the summer matches outside temperature

• Plant is heated in the winter

• Exposure to loud noises, solvent fumes, mica dust, and combustible dust (PPE Provided)

• May be required to work in confined spaces or elevated spaces

• Heavy machinery includes fork truck, bridge cranes, hoists, gantry crane, and tow motor

• Sharp edges on knives

• Pinch points on moving mechanical equipment

• Uniforms are issued and laundered by company

• Can be fast paced

• Time Worked:

• Monday - Friday with Saturday/Sunday overtime as business requires

• Three Shift operation (7:00AM - 3:30PM, 3:00PM - 11:30PM, 11:00PM - 7:30AM)

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting - must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Pushing & Pulling - must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs
• Bending & Stooping - must be able to bend or stoop while watching and operating machines
• Reaching - must be able to reach above shoulder level
• Climbing - while using step ladders and while on mezzanines
• Standing - must be able to stand for the majority of the shift
• Walking - walking to and from areas of the plant
• Seeing - recognizing hazards, warnings, and areas where machines are functioning improperly
• Talking & Hearing - communicating effectively with crew members, supervisors, and other members of the plant
