Overview
We are seeking a Trade Control Analyst to support its growing Global Commodities business across a diverse range of products and instruments. This desk-aligned role focuses on trade validation and reconciliation, trade amendments, regulatory reporting, risk and process improvement initiatives, and issue resolution. Full technical training will be provided.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, eager to learn, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Perform trade validation by reconciling trades and ensuring accurate booking within internal systems.
- Process trade amendments to correct booking errors and maintain accurate trade records.
- Investigate, escalate, and resolve trade breaks in partnership with Sales, Trading, and Operations teams.
- Support regulatory reporting and management reporting requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement, risk reduction, and control enhancement initiatives.
- Monitor trade activity and ensure adherence to operational controls and procedures.
- Identify and resolve operational issues while minimizing risk exposure.
- Respond to ad hoc requests and support broader team priorities as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of commodities experience required.
- Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and trade control processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data reconciliation, investigation, and interpretation.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and ownership.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn.
- Strong risk awareness and a sound controls mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to take ownership of issues and recommend practical, effective solutions.
- Experience with an Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system, such as Endur/OpenLink, is preferred.
- Prior experience supporting commodities operations, settlements, trade control, or OTC derivatives is preferred.
